Plan

Here is an outline (vision) for the next stages of development. The "official" plan is in post-it note form and generally only deals with features for the next release. This may be an experiment in project engineering failure but it has been over a year and the project is still going! Additionally, just becasue I am posting upcoming releases up here doesn't mean I will actually follow it. But, it is something to see what is "complete" and whats coming up. As I finish elements in BMTG3 I will probably just change this page to make it look like I am following a plan!

Version 0.1 - Complete!

Prototype release. Create the basic working version of the game. Include collision detection, basic menu, level loading, 5 character types, and basic drawing routines.

Version 0.2 - Released!

Multi-player release. The key to this game is good multiplayer. Since social interactions and variety are what make games unique, enjoyable, and replayable it is important to implement a solid multiplayer feature.

Version 0.3 - 90% - Working...

UI release. Create a real user interface. Create a flexible system that works well and looks good across different systems and on different resolutions. A good user interface is not noticed by its users.

Version 0.4 - 90%

FX release. Introduce/improve special effects & particle effects for game events. Special effects should "reward" the user for their actions. Finally, blood will make the grass grow green!

Version 0.5 - 80%

Sound release. Sound events should compliment the game. Music should set a tone and sound effects (like graphical effects) should "reward" users for successes/actions.

Version 0.6

Level release. Develop a training level for game. Develop a single player campeign that doesn't suck. Story elements may or may not be implemented.

Version 0.7

Art release. Clean up graphics, make the game look good. This may include replacing primitive characters/buildings with models.

Version 0.8

Character release. Create more character & building types, add more variety to the game.

Version 0.9

Bug fix up to initial release!

Version 1.0
